Review: Light Speed Video Learning

Light Speed Video Learning, by Cerebellum Corporation is designed to be a fun and effective way for students to understand a subject. As a member of the Crew, I received U.S. Gov & Politics AP Exam Prep video. This video tutorial covers 30 essential AP American Government & Politics topics in 30 minutes. I can see why they call it "Light Speed Video Learning" - the material is presented very quickly! Each video also includes a digital workbook with video notes, practice questions, and quizzes, so the information can also be worked through at a slower pace.

The DVD is 73 total minutes and covers information on:
  • the Constitution
  • Federalism and Theories of Democratic Government
  • Political Parties and Elections
  • Interest Groups & Political Action Committees
  • Congress, Presidency and Bureaucracy
  • Separation of Powers
  • Policy Making
  • Civil Rights and Civil Liberties
  • 14th Amendment
  • helpful test taking tips
  • and more.
Price: $14.98 ~ on sale now for $11.24

What I liked about it:
  • information is given in short spurts that are easy to understand
  • the material is presented in an engaging manner by other high school students ~ I think that would be appealing to students
  • the accompanying digital workbook and quizzes seem helpful

I really did not dislike anything about it. My students are still too young for this, but I am happy to have this around as a resource for when we study American Government and Politics.
