First Day + Daybook {January}

Outside my window...

37 degrees, cloudy grey skies, and snow covering the ground.

I am thinking...

about "balance" for my word for 2015. I'd love to be able to balance all the things I love doing, making more time for some things and spending less time doing others. But at the same time, 2015 needs to be all about consistency. I am excited about so much and I don't want to lose that excitement. I'm not sure I will chose one formal word for this year, but I have already been taking steps to balance my life.

I am thankful...

for my husband's encouragement.

In the kitchen...

For breakfast: french toast with on plan bread (crossover)

For lunch: Quinoa cooked with chicken broth and orange and yellow peppers diced ever so finely (in the Vitamix) and grilled tuna steaks (E meal).

For the kids: Triple Chocolate Brownie Cookies are in the oven, and I'm sure to have at least one (off plan).

I am wearing...

Our washing machine went out 12 days ago, so I'm wearing the same grey pants I wore yesterday (and the day before), a grey sweater, wool socks and Valor, Joy, and Frankincense essential oils.

I am creating...

this blog post for my weekly post due tomorrow because my heart is just not into blogging this week. (I'm ready for something new, but don't know what.) But, I really need to be creating goals for the coming year and make some blogging plans.

I am going...

nowhere. Luke and the oldest two boys went to the property and took the suburban and unless I'm desperate, I'm not driving Nathan's car anywhere. Luke will do our monthly Costco/Natural Grocers shopping trip without me this time on his way home.

I am wondering...

how the boys are doing up at the property. They went up to burn slash piles and reported 8 inches of snow ~ a good day for burning. I stayed home with the little ones.

I am looking forward to...

an exciting month for essential oils. We have some awesome incentives for new members and members who love to share about essential oils.

I am learning...

the ins and outs of building an oily business and dreaming of the Aroma Complete. Once I hit Executive (my next step), I have 6 months to hit Silver to get that kit, and I really, really want it!

Around the house...

The kids are reading here and there and everywhere, in their favorite chair, or with a hat on their hair. I made a Winter Reading challenge complete with a prize bucket, and they were up for the challenge!

I am pondering...

what I want to differently on my blog this year. This is my 7th year of blogging and I'm ready for something different. {Do you have any ideas for me? I'd love to hear! PLEASE!}

A favorite quote for today...

On my Good Earth Sweet and Spicy (affiliate) tea bag yesterday: "If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door." --Milton Berle

Love how that applies to my life right now. I'm so thankful for the opportunity that has literally been knocking on my door, but in an effort to get out of my comfort zone and really work it, I'm building doors.

On my tea bag today: "Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted." -John Lennon

I hope that's true because I've enjoyed wasting a lot of time these past two weeks!

P.S. The Sweet and Spicy tea is delightful. It is naturally sweet.

One of my favorite things...

talking business and leadership with my husband. Before building my own business, I had no interest in leadership or business talk - at all! (He is going to school for a Business degree and is a team leader at work). But, now that I am a team leader for my own team, and building my own business, it's fun!

A few plans for the rest of the week:

Organize photos to work on Project Life.

Create a game plan: Set some specific goals for 2015.

A peek into my day...

{Diffusing Lemon, Raven, and Thieves}

We got hit with the flu bug this week. On Monday, I subbed for a dental hygienist that had the flu, and while I was working, the kids played at the Y play land while Luke did some work, and guess what's going around? I'm sure I brought it home, and they may have too. Not only that, I was low on Thieves, so I was conserving it and not diffusing it for prevention. I oiled the kids up with Thieves and my homemade vapor rub (which I made for coughs and runny noses/congestion), but it has immune boosting oils + Thieves in it, so I rubbed it on their feet, chest, neck, and on their backs along their spine. Thankfully, the worst was over after the first night, but I insisted the kids rest up the rest of the week, and I cracked open the Thieves that I was saving to send to a friend. I'm ordering an extra bottle to have on hand in my next order! This is the 2nd time I've run out when I needed it, and I won't be without it again.

I have another new burning desire (among others) to make my Young Living business work so I can work from home where I belong.

I'm inspired by...

A Bag A Day Keeps the Clutter Away {12 Months of Decluttering} from The Inspired Room. I'm ready to get serious about eliminating clutter in our home. My little Bo is a junk collector and everyday he carries a box or a bag around from room to room to make his daily collection. Then I find his little collections all throughout the house wondering where all this stuff comes from, haha! I'm doing this!

  4. That is currently our favorite tea; I enjoyed a mug full of it today. I hope you are all feeling better. We are about to use the thieves oil blend here, too.

  5. That tea is one of my favorites, too. I'm deeply missing my hot tea but I can't drink anything hot right now.

    Enjoy putting your albums together! I'm happy if I just get some pictures taken lately.
