Preschool with Bo Unit 6: Letter E, Joseph is a Leader

Welcome to Little Hands to Heaven Unit 6. This week we are on Letter E and learn about Joseph in Egypt.  See our preschool curriculum and plans and a detailed Week 1 to see more details on what we are doing.

~Bo is 2 years, 2.5 months~

Bible Activity

We began this unit the same day we finished Unit 5. We acted out the story of Joseph being thrown into the cistern, took Bo's colorful coat off and pretended to tear it, and then sold "Joseph" into slavery. Here we are where we left off - Joseph in Egypt, and in jail (the chair).

 To help Bo remember why why God sent Joseph to Egypt, I helped him glue popcorn to a corn coloring page.

{Another idea: pop some corn for a snack!}

Bible Activity

Bo added 6 pillows to his Number 6 page for his 1 - 10 Counting Book. (Pillows symbolize Pharoah's Dream).

We are listening to "7 Fat Cows" from the Singing Bible,* while Bo cuts and pastes.

Tablet Teachables ~ Letter E

Letter Activity

I tired to tie in the theme of the fingerplay. . . "One empty, two empty, three empty jars. E - E - E," but Bo wasn't impressed.  He scooted the jar around the E with one foot, hands in his pockets the entire time.

  1. Thank you! It has been on my heart to email and ask you about LH. Did YOU ever grow tired of it? I find that I don't enjoy it as much as I did the first 5 weeks - though Bo does still enjoy it. Some of it is starting to feel repetitive (Bo loves that), but I don't enjoy the pretend play, and I am tired of adding to it to make up for not doing those. Would love to hear your thoughts - either here or in an email. :)

  2. I'm always amazed at the thoroughness of your school. I'm doing very little with my youngest on a one to one basis. You totally put me to shame!

  3. I seem to wander between children. Some seem to need me more than others. In the morning, I have been asking Malachi and Eliana who wants to do school first, and Malachi always says, "me! me!" (the sooner he can get to his Minecraft Homeschool, LOL), but Bo gets all excited and insists that he gets to go first. :) I capitalize on that enthusiasm, haha! Plus, he needs the extra work since he is in speech therapy - he's talking so much more now!
