Monday, April 17th | Week in the Life 2017

Today was a cold, windy, and rainy day and also the last day of Passover Week - the last day of the Feast of Unleavened bread where we remove the leaven (representing sin) from our homes and our hearts.

Today, we were planning a trip to church to fellowship with the Montana brethren for the last day. My husband barbecued some beef ribs and I put them in the crockpot with a jar of BBQ sauce. I made potato salad to go with. (My husband helped me peel and cook the potatoes the night before). For dessert, Elli and I made popcorn balls with organic sprinkles. These were sooo good and sooo bad, LOL!

I had a headache when I woke this morning from lack of sleep last night, but by now it was turning into a full fledged migraine, and I felt nauseous and dizzy. So, I stayed home from church and Elli stayed to keep me company and take care of me. I took a good two hour nap to try to sleep it off and then did a few things on the computer. She played in her room and then watched a movie on the computer in her bedroom, so I could rest some more.

So, about last night... A clanky noise downstairs woke me up at 12:30am, so I got up to see if it was Dylan, and I saw a stranger walking into our back yard. I saw him walk past the dining room towards the back door, so I hurried into the kitchen, which is off the back porch, to turn off the stove light that was on. I didn't hear any noise at the backdoor, so I wasn't sure if I scared him off, but I heard the gate squeak again as he left the backyard, so I followed him. I watched him from the window, and he was acting strange, so I woke my husband up. We watched him for a minute and then he grabbed my bike as if to steal it. We went outside to stop him, and he said that bike was his but that he wasn't happy with the performance of the bike. He was nice, but obviously drunk. My husband talked to him and asked him where he was from, while I called the police. They came and talked to him for awhile, interviewed us, and then hand cuffed him and took him away. I could not get back to sleep until 2am and didn't sleep well the rest of the week. Guess what I found in the backyard the next morning?!

For dinner, I grilled rib eye steaks under the broiler since it was raining outside and too cold to BBQ, and we had peas with butter, salt, and pepper. It was so good and so healthy, and then we had another popcorn ball. ðŸ˜¬

The rest of the family was home by dark (9:00 maybe), and I was already in bed for the night. I got up to hear about their day, who all was at church, and any news they had. Then I went to back to bed. Of course, I had a hard time falling asleep because I took a nap today.
