Best Summer Recipes

One of my favorite things to make in the summer is barbecued chicken. I grill chicken legs, smother them in BBQ sauce and then let the sauce bake on. This is a meal that is great hot or cold - perfect for camping, picnics or a Sabbath meal. Prepared the day ahead, they are easy and oh-so-yummy!

Here is one of my favorite twists on grilling chicken in the summer:

Hot Wings!

What you do:
  1. Grill your chicken wings (chicken legs are great too!)
  2. Add a large bottle of Frank's Red Hot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce and 1-2 sticks of butter (one for a smaller bottle) to your crockpot
  3. Add cayenne pepper to taste
  4. Add wings and let heat until ready to eat or dip wings fresh off the grill into hot wing sauce
  5. Serve with celery sticks, carrots, ranch or blue-cheese dressing
  6. Enjoy!
This is a recipe from when I was a cook at a bar and grill in my early twenties. I used to make a batch to take home with me when I was pregnant with my 1st. I loved them despite the heartburn they gave me. Now, we all love the tangy spicy zip! I especially love that I get a day off from cooking!

  1. Sounds delicious!
Hot wings were my big craving when I was pregnant with my first as well. I even ate them when I was in early labor. (She's 8 now, and still likes spicy food)

  2. We love hot wings and boneless wings at our house. I never liked them until I met my husband. He convinced me to eat just one whenever we'd be at a resturant, and now I'm totally addicted!
