Day Book

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY  . . . Aviv 17.

Outside my window...

beautiful.

I am thinking...

that though He slay me, I will trust in Him.

I am thankful that . . .

His grace is sufficient for me.

From the learning rooms...

empty workboxes (school is all done).

From the kitchen...

unleavened bread and chicken and rice soup.

I am wearing...

blue jeans, green and blue tzit tzits and a green t-shirt.

I am creating...

a greenhouse in my mud room, an organized homeschool and super silly things to do with the letter S for preschool.

I am going...

to take the kids on a bike ride now that my tire is fixed.

I am reading...

the book of Job.

I am hoping...

to enjoy a few more sunny days before bad weather comes.

I am hearing...

the tick of the clock and children playing outback.

Around the house...

we got some Spring cleaning done, but still need to organize and declutter.

One of my favorite things...

quiet times.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

soccer practice and games, assemble the garden boxes, plant some seeds, visit with a friend, cry.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing . . .

My latest adventure in preparing and storing . . . dehydrating.

The Excalibur with 9 trays.

Organic celery . . .

Apple pie slices and my good little helper, Malachi.

Corn, celery, oranges, lemons, apples, broccoli, spinach and pineapple.

Pizza crackers - sprouted wheat, roasted red peppers, kalmata olives, and pizza seasonings. Yummy!

I still have peas and potatoes to dry. And fruit and yogurt leathers to try. This thing has been running night and day! When I have enough dried, I will pack it in mylar with O2 absorbers for storage.  I love that it is so light weight once dry and takes up less space. I still plan to can, but am loving dehydrating!

  1. Yum! Looks good. And what a fine little helper you have. And CONGRATS on the land in Montana. I can imagine you're very excited.
