Boaz Zephaniah
Born at home
12/25 at 6:32 a.m.
12/25 at 6:32 a.m.
attended by Daddy and Jordan
8 pounds 7 ounces, 20 1/2 inches
I was so surprised to have a boy, sure that we were having a girl, but totally in love with him! Chosen by Daddy before birth, the name Boaz means "swiftness." Zephaniah means "Yah has treasured" or "Yah has protected" and is a very fitting name considering I hemorrhaged at 9 weeks and Yah indeed protected him. Father gave me the name chayah, which means "to live" and I now know that it was a promise, rather than a name, to treasure and protect and let this babe live. I am so grateful to YHVH for a safe delivery and a healthy baby boy!
A few labor and delivery stats:
Baby is perfect. Nursing like a champ. He passed his first meconium stools at 12 hours and again at 36 hours and my milk came in last night. And I am resting up and healing.
A few labor and delivery stats:
- Labor started around 4:15 a.m. but I was not sure "this is it."
- At 5:05, contractions were 3 minutes apart and I still was not sure! We started filling the pool just in case.
- At 5:11, I had a "show" and thought this "could be it."
- At 5:34, I finally came to terms with the fact that "this is it!"
- At 5:40, I got into the pool as it was being filled.
- After I hit transition, I had a short break and then contractions were right on top of each other and very intense.
- At 6:13, my water broke ~ just 19 minutes before birth!
- I pushed. With Eliana, I let her descend on her own as the contractions worked, but with Bo, I pushed. Hard.
- At 6:32, Boaz was born.
- Daddy caught him this time!
- Total labor: 2 hours 17 minutes
