14 {Going on. . . 15!}

I think for the first time in a couple years, Jordan will actually be glad to be the age he is turning. He is so excited to get his learners permit, but they are closed on his birthday so he will have to wait a WHOLE day to get it. I'm guessing that: we will be there first thing the next morning, he won't let me drive on the way home and we will make a few detours getting there. =)

What I love about you ~

I love:

  • that you are a talker ~ I enjoy our conversations, even when they distract you from your school work. ;-)

  • that you are so handy {mechanical} and helpful.

  • that with you, even on a bad day, I know tomorrow will be better.

  • how you are trying so hard to be sweet to your little sister, even though she annoys you at times.

  • the bond you are building with Boaz, so that when you grow up and move on he will still know you.

  • that I can picture you coming home just to visit when you are grown up. . . (remember the conversation about what each boy would come home for, lol)

  • your independent personality.

  • that I can count on you.

Your life {at 15} is:

  • homeschool (9th, going on 10th grade).

  • chickens, yardwork, car maintenance, bedroom, living room, mudroom and handyman chores.

  • trucks.

  • working at the YMCA.

  • coaching and refereeing Y Sports.

  • SHS {Bronc} SOCCER!

  • family, friends and FAITH!

3/25 Sheridan vs. Cody JV A Game ~ Jordan is #37

Yes, it is snowing... and cold.

I've been listening to the song 100 years by Five For Fighting and I guarantee I have cried 100 tears.

I cut and pasted some of the lyrics to this song...

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are...

...15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live...

Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye...

Another blink of an eye.

Jordan, there's still time for you. ENJOY being fifteen!! You will only be 15 ONCE. Don't miss it. Choose life. Live each day, each MOMENT to its fullest, so that whether you turn 15 or 99, you can look back on a memorable year and enjoy life right where you are at, no matter what age you are.

I'm so proud of the young man that Jordan is becoming. He told me the other day that he WANTS to be a good kid. That blessed me. We have our moments for sure, but Jordan IS a good kid.

Father, thank you for Jordan. Please bless each year of his life. And let him continue to grow to love and honor you in all he does.

  1. 15! It seems like just yesterday that I was 15 (although not even close). My oldest is just 12, but I am also feeling those wishes that he stays around for the littler kids. Your Jordan sounds like such a wonderful kid!

  7. How special Michelle! And Jordan! Happy Birthday to you! I sometimes think about when our munchkins will be Jordan's age, getting ready for driving and leaving home not long after that (two of my siblings had gone from home by 16, me at 18 and my sister at the same age) and I just cry! I can't bear the thought but I also know that Abba will prepare us in the meantime to get to the point where we can healithily allow them to grow and change and embrace all the new paths He has prepared for them.
Anyway, rambling sorry but just wanted to send my love to you Michelle and blessings for Jordan!
    Love Lus x
