5. List What You Are Grateful For | 52 Lists

I am grateful for:

  • everything!

In Ephesians 5:18, Paul admonishes that we should be thankful to God for EVERYTHING!

"And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." — 1Th 5:18

I was recently challenged to pause and consider all the many things God has done:

  • Consider the blessings of where you live.
  • Consider the blessings of being alive, even if you are having health issues.
  • Consider the blessings of your family - both physical and spiritual and the extended family God has blessed you with.
  • Consider the blessings that come with the knowledge of God's plan and purpose for humanity.
  • Consider the blessings of all God has done for you.
  • By considering these things we can go to God in prayer and give Him heartfelt praise and thanks for the many, many blessings he has poured out on us.

"Make this a Sabbath where you give thanks to God for all He has done for you, and while you're at it, also give thanks to others for the things they do for you, too. In doing this you will not only be praising God, but also edifying your brothers and sisters."

I'm grateful for:

  • the blessing of a home to live in
  • the blessing of being alive and the health and the strength to make it through each day one step at a time
  • my little family, my big family, my church family, and close friends who are like family
  • knowing the love of God
  • the blessing of having a loving husband and great kids
  • the blessing of homeschooling
  • God's provision
  • healthy food to feed my family
  • peace and quiet
  • losing weight and the wonderful problem of needing new clothes
  • homemade skinny chocolate truffles and Treeses (Trim Reeses!)
  • sunshine
  • the hope of warmer weather and spring right around the corner
  • and so much more!

  1. Amen!! I wholehearted agree that when we pause and truly look at all the abundant blessings around us, we grow closer to the Father. We have so much to be thankful for and in my most difficult times, I always try to look at this area of my life to help me get through them.
