The Joy of Simple Things

For Today. . .
a verse to meditate on for the week: 2 Cor 10:4-5

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. . ."

Outside my window...
Overcast, but I am praying for sun!

I am thinking...
that I have so much to do and so little time, but people are more important.

I am thankful for...
the help my husband gives me around the house.

From the learning rooms...
I am packing the boys' school books to do school on the road - geography songs and notebooking pages.

From the kitchen...
I am making an Oreo Cookie Cake to take to my friend's house.

I am wearing...
my potched jean skirt, a brown elbow length t-shirt, long janes, and brown boots with a faux fur cuff.

I am creating...
musical instruments for Mali's Mm lesson and homeschool charts for the boys.

I am going...
to take the boys' friends home to their ranch about 60 miles from town and spend the day there.

I am reading...
Exodus

I am hoping...
that the roads will be nice for travel and that we get home before dark.

I am hearing...
the boys and their friends get dressed for one last sledding trip before we take them home.

Around the house...
I am nursing Elli as I type, Mount Washmore is growing at an exponential rate, but the school room is more organized! The cupboards need serious help, but dh built shelves downstairs to organize my canning supplies. The electrical work still needs done, the shower wall needs built and the toilet and sink need installed in the bathroom upstairs and the phone is ringing and I can't find the phone!

One of my favorite things...
quiet times.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Tot school for Elli, Mali's Preschool Lesson - Letter M; Australia, New Zealand and Oceania for Geography;

Swimming Creatures Lesson 1 for Science, and Hunter's Education Home Study

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Eliana smiling for a picture before going down the slide.
