Sweet as Honey and Simple

For Today. . .

Outside my window...
light snow falling off an on.

I am thinking...

how sweet it is to have my daughter fall asleep in my arms while she nurses.

I am thankful for...

peace and quiet.

From the learning rooms...

The boys are working on their notebooking pages for science.

From the kitchen...

I am boiling water in a makeshift double boiler so I can melt 10 pounds of beeswax to strain the bees out so we can make hand dipped candles for school this week.

I am wearing...

2 braids, layered T's and comfy sweats.

I am creating...
my first felted knit hat!

I am going...

to need to go to the store to get milk today.

I am reading...

Exodus and Revelations and studying the plagues as a type and figure of the second exodus (which will be greater than the first!) and Leviticus for my reading through the Bible.

I am hoping...

that I will get to bed early tonight.

I am hearing...

the soothing sound of flowing water from the (new to us) turtle tank as it pours out of the filter.

Around the house...

the smell of honey throughout every room from the melted beeswax!

One of my favorite things...
my digital camera.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
tracking and trail marking, homemade candles, Hebrew lessons, guitar practice, knitting . . .

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Brotherly Love.

  1. Thanks for sharing your Daybook! Your children are beautiful. I also love the feel of nursing a baby to sleep (although I am not nursing a baby currently). It's so sweet, so peaceful, so warm and quiet.

    Cheers from Nebraska! :)
