Sweeter than Honey to My Mouth!

With the smell of honey wafting through the house, I couldn't resist making something with honey. I have made honey cookies, and honey cake before, but I wanted something different this time. Here is what I came up with: Honey Candy

   

2 c. sugar 1/2 c. honey 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup butter Cook to hard crack stage and pour into a buttered dish. Pull edges towards the center and when cool enough, start pulling! I waited too long and it got hard while it was pulling. Hence, the funny shapes. But, it tasted good! I added Peppermint oil to half the batch and it tasted like peppermint candy - au naturale!



 Did you know that honey occurs 56 times in the KJV? I love honey because it reminds me of how sweet the Word of God is!



Psalm 119:103 reads, "How sweet are thy words unto my taste! [yea, sweeter] than honey to my mouth!"



 I do have to remind my boys of Proverbs 25:16, though. "Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it." (They would have eaten the whole thing, had I let them!)
